The Biggest Misconception About a DUI Arrest

Drinking and driving is something that happens everyday and it seems like many people don't take it very seriously. Many view a DUI (Driving Under the Influence) arrest as just a minor traffic violation, but this is definitely a big misconception.

People who have been allegedly drunk driving try to go to court without a DUI lawyer, but they soon realize that a DUI case is complex and requires a great deal of research and investigation. There are many factors that come into play such as: What was the chemical makeup of the driver prior to and during the arrest? Was the breathalyzer instrument used to measure the driver's BAC (Blood Alcohol Content) properly maintained and working ok? Is it possible that medications or food the driver ate before he/she was arrested affected the breath test?

A drunk driving arrest is something that shouldn't be taken lightly. Considering the consequences of a conviction such as fines, jail time, a driver's license suspension or revokation, mandatory attendance of an alcohol program, and insurance rate hikes, drunk driving is indeed something that requires much attention.
